Dave Pawlan began his career in photography at a very early age. Having taking his photography class at the age of 14, Dave continued his interest in photography and became the darkroom technician at the local newspaper.
After graduating in Engineering, Dave moved to Japan to study the language, culture and way of life of the Japanese people. During his 5 years there, Dave traveled extensively through Asia and taking many rolls of photos. Having received a certificate in the Japanese Tea Ceremony (Sado) and two Shodan degrees (black belt) in Kobudo, a very traditional martial arts system, Dave returned to the U.S. and started his degree in Asian Studies with a focus on Asian religion and philosophy.
After receiving his degree, this time it was Indonesia where Dave lived and worked for 6 years while studying the language and arts.
During his career in the logistics and transportation industry, Dave was able to travel the world, visiting all of the major cultures and seeing places unusual and beautiful, all the time with his camera.
Dave returned to the U.S. in 2011 and started his studio, Just Another Place Studios, where he does woodworking, stained glass, photography, electronic music and writes novels.
